Accessibility

What we have done to make this site usable, where it still falls short, and how to tell us.

We aim for this website to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This statement records what has been done, and where the site still falls short — rather than claiming a standard we have not verified.

What has been implemented

  • Semantic HTML landmarks — header, navigation, main content and footer.
  • A skip link to bypass navigation and reach the main content.
  • Visible focus indicators on every interactive element; focus is never suppressed.
  • A mobile navigation panel that manages focus, reports its state and closes with the Escape key.
  • Accordions built on native <details> and <summary> elements.
  • Filters and selectors built as native form controls inside labelled groups.
  • Form fields with real labels, inline error messages linked to their inputs, and focus moved to the first invalid field on submission.
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images; decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.
  • Full support for prefers-reduced-motion — animation is disabled and content remains visible.
  • Content is never dependent on JavaScript being available.
